Have you mastered growing cover crops? Then you might be interested in planting green. In collaboration with many stakeholders and farmers, the Nutrient and Pest Management Program (NPM) developed nine videos on the basics of planting corn and soybeans into a green living cover crop.

What is planting green, and what are the benefits of planting green?

In this context, planting green is the process of planting corn or soybeans into green, living cover crops.

Embracing the practice of planting cash crops green into cover crops offers a multitude of benefits that extend beyond immediate gains. Planting green allows for continuous living roots in the soil, fostering a thriving soil ecosystem under your crops. Let these videos guide you in learning more about planting green in Wisconsin. You will get the information needed to join other Wisconsin farmers across the state who, year after year, plant soybeans and/or corn into a green cover crop.
