Wisconsin farmers, agronomists, and agricultural professionals are invited to the 2025 Agronomy and Soils Field Day, hosted by the University of Wisconsin–Madison Division of Extension, on Weds., Aug. 27, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Arlington Agricultural Research Station (N633 Hopkins Rd, Arlington, WI 53911).
This year’s theme, “Profits and Progress: Delivering Research-Backed ROI to Wisconsin Farms,” highlights the latest in field crop research, soil health, forage systems, and nutrient management. Attendees will gain insights from UW–Madison researchers through rotating field talks and demonstrations.
Event Highlights:
- Field Tours (8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.):
- Three rotating stops featuring topics such as:
- Smart corn and soybean strategies
- Cover crop innovations
- Manure nutrient management
- Integrated forage systems
- Continuing Education Credits:
- Up to 4.0 Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) CEUs available.
- Lunch & Economic Update (12:00 p.m.):
- Lunch available for purchase ($10) courtesy of the Wisconsin Association of Professional Ag Consultants (WAPAC), followed by a Farm Economic Update with Dr. Jeff Hadachek on the economic impacts of 2025 agricultural policy changes.
- Drone Demonstration
- Following the field day, faculty and industry partners will give talks and demonstrations around the risks and benefits, licensing, uses and outlooks for UAVs in agriculture
Registration opens at 8:00 a.m., with field tours departing promptly at 8:30 a.m. Participants are encouraged to dress for outdoor conditions and bring questions for the Q&A sessions at each stop.
