Each year, the Wisconsin Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) Board selects one influential CCA as the Wisconsin Certified Crop Adviser of the Year. The Wisconsin CCA of the Year Award is designed to recognize a Wisconsin Certified Crop Adviser who is highly innovative, delivers exceptional customer service, has shown that they are a leader in their field, and have contributed substantially to the exchange of ideas and the transfer of agronomic knowledge to the Wisconsin agriculture industry.
Nominations for the 2025 Wisconsin Certified Crop Adviser of the Year are open until October 3, 2025. Here’s what you need to know to nominate:
- A candidate for the CCA of the Year Award must hold a current Wisconsin CCA certification in good standing.
- Two letters of recommendation are required. There are no restrictions on who may write those letters. However, active WI Board members are not allowed to write letters of reference due to a conflict of interest.
- Nominees will be evaluated solely based on the information provided on the nomination form and accompanying letters of recommendation.
- A customer, employer, peer, or another associate may nominate a candidate.
- The WI CCA of the Year Award Selection Committee is made up of current Wisconsin CCA Board members.
- Deadline for applications is October 3, 2025. Electronic applications are required through the online application found here.
- The award will be given on an annual basis. The Wisconsin CCA Board will automatically nominate the winner of this award for the International Certified Crop Adviser of the Year Award, which will be given at the American Society of Agronomy’s (ASA) Annual Meeting. The official nomination form must be completed in full for the Committee to review. An individual may only receive the award once.
- The recipient of the WI CCA of the Year Award will receive a commemorative plaque and a $500 award.
- The Wisconsin CCA of the Year Award celebrates a level of proficiency that belongs to an individual and not to a company.
