Sustainable Vegetable Production and Sustainable Agriculture Program
Dr. Yi Wang
Our program supports small-scale urban and peri-urban farm enterprises by researching vegetable varieties, season extension techniques, and genetic diversity in plant breeding. We empower beginning farmers through education and collaboration within local food systems.
Nutrient Cycling and Agroecosystems Lab
Dr. Matt Ruark
Our research focuses primarily on nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizer management in many different agroecosystems in Wisconsin (grain, dairy, vegetable, and biofuel production systems), as well as the connections between management and soil carbon and the connection between management and water quality.
